IP Events

On Thursday, March 16th Penn Law alumni, students, faculty, and staff had the opportunity to hear Charlene Stern, a patent attorney, speak about her career as well as cutting edge intellectual property and health law issues at this year's PIPG Symposium, "A Healthy Dose of IP." Ms. Stern's legal experience has ranged from working with global law firm Goodwin Procter, to more recently joining Editas Medicine. Notably, Ms. Stern continues to describe herself as “a scientist first, a lawyer second.” For law students and young IP lawyers, Ms. Stern's words of wisdom included the importance of seeking out mentors early in one’s career, and the need to step outside the office to meet and engage with other people.
